Football in Ghana
An off-limits investigation
On 16 January 2019, Ahmed Hussein-Suale, a Ghanaian investigative journalist, was murdered in Accra.
One year later, those who carried out that murder and those who ordered it are still at large, and the police seem to have overlooked many leads: in 2018, he had received death threats from a member of parliament following his investigation into corruption in football. We spoke with that member of parliament.
New material that we are publishing here also shows the existence of other death threats, as well as a key witness to the murder, and sketches of the killers.
